I love teaching!  I also love trying to find ways to tie math, science, and technology together.  We've done some pretty neat things this year.

I borrowed a set of Labquests from ATU and the students connected a light probe to it.  They recorded the changes in the amount of light each time they added another battery to the circuit.  They made a table from their data, then they graphed it on paper, and later they created a graph on Microsoft Excell and compared it to the graph they made in their lab books.

I  have two Proscopes, I recieved one from a class that I attended , and the other one I wrote a Donors Choose grant for.  The Proscope is a hand held microscope that will plug into a computer and allow the students to examine anything.  We have looked at the fibers in our clothing, money, and rocks.  We compared different leaves, different types of animal fur, even salt and sugar crystals.  The Proscope  can be used to photograph their findings through still photography, video, and time-lapse for recording changes that take place over an extended period of time, and the images can be saved to their computers to be used in presentations.
